Hurn
Good clear and warm
weather all day. Early in the morning, the air raid warning
sounded around Bournemouth and the flash and booming could be
seen and heard. In view of the concentrated solar beams, pilots
who were not on Ops, basked in the sunshine when not flying. An
operation was carried out this morning over a Noball target,
north of Rouen with 500 lb. bombs. 12 bombs were seen to burst
in the target area. Another operation was carried out on a bridge
at Orival in France with 1000 lb. bombs, some direct hits and
near misses were scored.
