Very dull weather all day, with a fairly strong and consistent breeze. In the evening the breeze subsided and the clouds were dispelled. Six pilots were on Readiness from 05:30 hrs. until 23:30 hrs. Nine aircraft did a defensive patrol in the English Channel in the morning, Smoke laying practice was carried out by three aircraft early in the afternoon. No operations today. S/L Norsworthy, the Squadron Adj. and a few of the 439 airmen spent a good part of the evening in improving the mobile squadron office. A bit of scrounging had its desired effect.
