Only one operation was
carried out today due to duff weather here and over the target
area, never-the-less we are on readiness for a quick hop at any
moment. The one operation was effected by eight of our aircraft
led by F/L Tommy Dadson, on a supply dump and personnel in a
wooded arae at Vendes, south-east of Tilly. There was heavy
cloud over the target but Tommy Dadson found a break in the
cloud and zipped through with the rest of our pilots and made a successful
attack. The Army aided the attack with red smoke shells.

Webmaster's
Notes:
(1) The 541
Form for the month of June 1944 is extremely illegible, and
difficult to read, and may entail a trip to Ottawa to get a
better copy out of the Directorate of History. Hopefully theirs
will more legible.
In the meantime, illegible text is indicated by a
series of question " ? " marks.
