Ayr,
Ayrshire, Scotland
Now
have ten serviceable aircraft, other four are still in hangar
getting checks. Weather still bad and only circuits and bumps
carried out in morning with no flying in the afternoon. Seven
pilots attended the funeral of F/O Hope of 438 Squadron (1) who was
killed when his Hurricane crashed on Friday. Several other
pilots attended the lecture at the Intelligence Section. F/O
Elfner returned to duty from hospital. Also learned that W/C
Marples would be leaving us very shortly.
