It rained practically
all day which prevented us from giving the Allied Forces in France
a little support much as the pilots were raring to go. The
"C" Echelon moved off this morning and took away
our remaining office and other disposable equipment. All
we are now waiting is the word to move the Airlift Party to
France. The long awaited word was received in the afternoon
which will whisk us off to the land of Normandy. The day has now
come for our eager groundcrew who will have the opportunity of
doing what they had anxiously awaited since enlisting in the
R.C.A.F. To say the least they are about the keenest and most
efficient types that I have met in the service.

The 541 Form for the month of June 1944 is extremely illegible,
and difficult to read, and may entail a trip to Ottawa to get a
better copy out of the Directorate of History. Hopefully theirs
will more legible.
In the meantime, illegible text is indicated by a
series of question " ? " marks.
