St. Andre, France
Again
the weather was against us. It is five years ago today that we
declared was on the ambitious and supposedly "MASTER
RACE" Today the combat progress is a bit reversed! Padre
Ashford gathered the remnants of his flock this morning in the
salvation Army tent in observance of the National Day of Prayer
where his exuberance and vim, vigour and feelings reached new
heights. Unfortunately, "A" Party wended its way to
B.48 and could not attend the Service. The pilots got their
flying papers this afternoon and most of them took-off for the
new aerodrome 18:45 hours. F/O's J.E. Hogg and C.L. Burgess
managed to get away on leave before the move was announced, and
F/L W.D. Burton and F/O P.N. Bernhart returned from their leave
after the pilots had departed.

No
operations were carried out on this date
Webmaster's Notes:
Although there were no operations carried out, there was
flying to be done. F/O GW Hewson's logbook shows that he
carried out a one hour flight in Typhoon M from B24 to
Amiens at B48. He notes : "Still
chasing jerry across France but we are still out of range
of the front."
