R.C.A.F.
St. Andre, France
The
morning was perfect with hardly a cloud in sight, but a little
cool and breezy. The Squadron 30 Cwt. with springs sagging and
cab loaded with tents lumbered off clumsily together with the
jeep to B.48. If our prayers are answered, the truck will make
the journey. (19:00 hours). The truck and jeep rolled into
Glisy, east of Amiens, after several stops to cool off, and with
a blown muffler. Our new sleeping site is located beside some
pranged hangars, dummy buildings and aircraft, with from a
distance appeared quite realistic. F/O J.H. Stitt and W.O.2 W.
Gray flew to B.9 by Auster to pick up two Typhoons only to find
that two other pilots had made the delivery.
