The
cold early morning brought a heavy ground haze, but the rest of the
day was almost cloudless. We only did two measly operations today. The
evening in Brussels was found by quite a few to be very expensive. The
food especially as well as the cabarets
cause numerous representations to the Accountant Officer F/L Jack
Little. Other Fellows have been invited out the whole evening by the
Belgian citizens who have been exceptionally hospitable to our
personnel.

Details
of Sortie or Flight
Eight
pilots took-off on an Armed Recce led by F/L Burton. The area to
be covered was from Turnhout to Eindhoven to Venlo and return.
Red Flight spotted a staff car at E.6523 on their return and
damaged it. They also straffed likely forests at E.4215 when no
other targets presented themselves. F/O Swingler had to return
early because of engine trouble and brought his number two F/O
Bernhart with him. No flak was encountered throughout the show.
