Heavy
overcast in the morning with cold discouraging drizzle, clearing up
partially at night. Consequently no operations were carried out. F/O
Roberts, an architect in civvy street was elected to construct a floor
for the pilots' tent. So with a few more pilots he made a recce of the
local ruins and brought back a load of timber. It did not take long
for the floor to take shape. The messes were in receipt of some Jerry
furniture obtained through army authorities. It will be super having a
little heat for a change, but the small stoves will have to be kept
stoked if the effects of the heat are to be felt.
