as recorded in the  439 Squadron Operations Record Book Form 540

for

04 October 1944

 B.78 Eindhoven, Holland

Cloudy and cold most of the day but this did not prevent operating as we jammed in four operations. F/O's P.N. Bernhart and J. Fraser proceeded to England via air to pick up two Typhoons for 143 Wing, presumably for 168 Squadron which has joined our Wing and is converting to Typhoons.
