A
funeral service was held in the pilot's room for F/L McAvity
this afternoon at 14:15 hours. It was attended by all pilots of
438 & 439 squadrons. After the service, F/L Dadson & F/O
Elfner flew in a Lysander to the point where Hugh went in, and
dropped a very beautiful wreath. No other flying this afternoon.
Several pilots borrowed the Wince's car and went over Prestwick
airport to look around. the rest of the pilots D.I.'d a few
aircraft, and then went over to the I-Section.
