Weather
still closed in this morning, but all aircraft were able to
get away this afternoon. Three Typhoons departed at 1805 hrs
and arrived Funtingten at 1830 hrs. The 9 Hurricanes left at
1805 hrs and arrived at 1840 hrs. No. 440 Squadron flew the
rest of our Typhoons down. One pilot of No. 440 Squadron
pranged his aircraft on landing. His engine cut due to failure
to switch over from reserve to main tanks.
