Strange things in the skies of Merry Ole'England

 

Culprits or victims.....to be determined.

 

 

How 439 got its first Tiger Striped paint scheme is the subject of a great debate. What is known is that the event occured  in 1969 during the Woodbridge Tiger Meet hosted by the USAF 79th TFS. There are unsubstantiated reports (see next page) that it was painted with a paint brush during this famous meet by persons unknown.

CF12833 pictured  above became intentionally or not, the NTM's & 439 Squadron's first Tiger Bird  in 1969 and possibly in 1970 also. More on this at a later.
