When
No. 2 Squadron was disbanded at Rockcliffe in December 1939, the
School of Army Co-operation was revived for a time, disbanded in April
1941, and reformed again six months later under the command of S/L
W.V.S. Ross. The new school was intended as an interim measure only to
cover the period of organization and training. As soon as the school
was ready to operate it would became a squadron to provide close
support and reconnaissance training for Army units which were
preparing to go overseas.
