The
following is gleaned from 439's historical diaries:
While
stationed at Rockcliffe, Ontario, J/3256 Pilot Officer RB Aitken was killed on
Saturday 5 April 1941 at the age of 21, when the Lysander (tail
number 432) which he was piloting, crashed at Cardinal, Ontario. His
air gunner R/57925
Sgt HW Chase was also killed in this crash.
