Officer George Franklin Burden

Canadian Air Force
Son
of Edward E. and Myrtle M. Burden, of Fredericton, New Brunswick,
Canada , age 22, died on 03 May 1945. He was based in Germany and was
killed on a mission against the Hamburg-Elmshom main Line.
The
following entry is from 439's War Operations Record Book (Form 541): Blue section found
another train just west of Pinneberg. A dive on this was met by a hail
of light flak from the train. J/88715 F/O George Burden flying as Blue
Two received a direct hit and his aircraft burst into flames. He
crashed on the northern outskirts of the village of Esingen.
