Flying Officer Merl Taz Tillotson

Royal Canadian Air Force


 

Born August 18, 1929 Colchester South, Ontario, Flying Officer MT Tillotson was the son of the late Taz Thomas and Ethel Roosevelt (nee Leach) Tillotson of Harrow, Ontario.
He enlistment in the RCAF April 9, 1954 at Windsor, Ontario
While stationed at Marville, France, 224785 F/O MT Tillotson was killed during an unsuccessful ejection following an engine flame out during an overshoot on 28 August 1956. His Canadian F-86 Sabre Serial Number 23496 crashed.

Location: Choloy is a village and commune in the Department of the Meurthe-et-Moselle, 28 kilometres west of Nancy and some 5 kilometres west of Toul, a town on the N4 road from Paris to Nancy. The village is south of the River Moselle on the minor road (D11B) from Toul to the neighbouring village of Foug. The CHOLOY WAR CEMETERY is 3 kilometres west of Toul on the north side of the D11B road.
