First I would like to thank Don MacGillivary for planting the idea of a
family history into my head, also for his guidance, information, and
interest in my research. Most
importantly, however, I wish to thank Dorothy Nalepa, Joe Melnick, Sonia
Banfield, Ann Martinello, Paul Melnick, and my parents, Peter and Mary
Melnick, for their help, cooperation, fine memory and interest in this
research paper. I would also
like to thank Don MacLeod Personnel Officer, at the Sydney Steel Plant, for
his cooperation and assistance. Also, I would like to thank Fr. Edward
Yarema for his assistance and my sister, Darlene, for typing this report.
Finally, I would like to thank God for keeping
the memories of my family members alive.
