The dedication over, Capt Lavallee once again moves to the front of the altar, salutes, takes hold of the now consecrated Standard, and approaches Col Don Mattews, former CO of 439 and of the Desert Cats during the Gulf & Kuwait War.

Col Mattews salutes the Standard, takes possession of them, and after the salute to the Standard by Capt Lavallee, then passes them to His Excellency, the Governor General.
