The
Squadron's activities at Debert reached their peak in June 1943. The
next few weeks were filled with speculation and rumour about the
future finally the cloak of mystery was raised with the announcement
that No. 123 would go overseas as a unit at the end of November. While
preparations for departure were at their height, a fire gutted part of
the administration building. Despite this setback the Squadron got
away on schedule and arrived in Britain in mid-December.
