Lt Boucher then unfurls the colours lanyard, and with the assistance of Cpl Doiron fully undrapes the folded standard. Cpl Doiron steps back and resumes his position beside the dais.

Capt Lavallee then marches in front of the altar, and takes possession of the standard and carefully drapes it over the top of the altar so that the standard is facing the parade. He then returns to his former position.

At this point, Cpl Andre Doiron, steps off from his position beside the dais, and halts smartly in front of the Standard Bearer. Although he stands before an officer, he does not salute, , as the standard is not yet consecrated and any salute could be wrongly interpreted as a salute to the standard. Cpl Dorion places a ceremonial cushion in front of the Standard Bearer. Lt Boucher then lowers the standard and Cpl Dorion assists him to ceremoniously uncase the colour. Once the case is removed, it is draped over Cpl Doiron's arm.
