History of Squadron

Eindhoven

Moving still closer to the front, the wing advanced on 25 September to Eindhoven which was to be its hand for the next six months - the longest period that the Squadron spent at one base.

The airfield was pitted with bomb craters and the buildings and hangars had been so knocked about that the airmen began building wooden huts to replace their tents for the colder, damper season that was setting in.
